data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Mosteiros is a town located in the northwestern part of the island, at the sea level. It has been originated by lava flows, which allowed the creation of the natural pools, a large area of several rock pools on the north side of the village. They have different dimensions for length and depth, and allow swimming, diving, snorkelling or simply observing the sea life within, such as different fishes, octopus and starfishes.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">On the opposite side of the pools, there\u2019s a very scenic black sand beach, with fantastic views to the rock formations that name the town. Between the beach and the pools, you\u2019ll find the fishing port. The town is also renowned for its fantastic sunsets, only observable from the western side of the island.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Activities like diving, fishing, spearfishing, kayaking, surfing and snorkelling find here excellent conditions, as well as birdwatching, both endemic and migratory birds.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Whale watching is also a possible activity to do in Mosteiros, with a local charter, Terra do Pico*<\/span> (<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/terradopico.com\/\">https:\/\/terradopico.com\/<\/a><\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">), which offers different tours, as well as boat trips and SUP and kayak rentals.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">For those who enjoy hiking, the trail Atalho dos Vermelhos* (<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/trails.visitazores.com\/en\/trails-azores\/sao-miguel\/atalho-dos-vermelhos\">https:\/\/trails.visitazores.com\/en\/trails-azores\/sao-miguel\/atalho-dos-vermelhos<\/a><\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">) allows a visit to the natural water springs that provide fresh water to the town as well as offers dramatic views over the cliffs and the ocean.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The proximity to Sete Cidades makes Mosteiros even more special, allowing a quick and easy access to beautiful lagoons, viewpoints and several hikes.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Also close by is the thermal ocean pool of Ferraria, just 8km away, where its possible to bath in ocean heated water (depending on the tied, it can reach up to 40\u00baC).<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Mosteiros is a town located in the northwestern part of the island, at the sea level.
